Most desert trips in Sharm are short. The ride itself usually lasts 45 minutes, and with transfers and Bedouin tea you are out for three to four hours, so a safari fits into a morning or an afternoon. Morning pickups are around 8:00 and afternoon ones between 14:00 and 16:00. The VIP super safari leaves at 16:00 and ends with dinner under the stars. Briefings at the ATV base are in English.

Horse riding in Sharm El Sheikh
Horse riding on the beach is a 45-minute ride on Arabian horses along a stretch of beach set aside for riding. It runs every day with pickup at 8:00 or 15:00, whichever you choose, and the trip takes about three hours including transfers. The price, from $30, covers the bus, the guide and the ride.
Wear comfortable clothes and shoes, and bring a hat, sunglasses and your passport. Drinks and photos are paid separately.
Quad biking and buggies in Sharm El Sheikh
The quad safari, from $12, is our lowest-priced trip in Sharm. A quad has two levers, throttle and brake, so you need no licence or experience, and riders from 17 can drive on their own. After a short briefing in English you ride for 45 minutes, then stop for Bedouin tea. Pickups are at 8:00, 14:00 or 16:00, and only the 8:00 departure includes a free camel ride. The quads with Mini Egypt Park version runs in the morning past small copies of the pyramids, the Sphinx and Luxor Temple, back by 11:00.
Buggies come as a two-seater or a four-seater, with the same 45-minute ride and tea, and pickups at 8:00, 14:00 or 15:30. A four-seater works for a family or two couples. On any of these rides you can pay extra to ride privately with your own group. Bring your passport, sunglasses and a headscarf; both can be bought at the ATV centre if you forget them.
Super safari, camel rides and Extreme Day
The VIP super safari picks you up around 16:00. After 45 minutes on a quad you ride a camel for 10 minutes to a Bedouin village for a barbecue dinner and a show of local folklore, and you are back around 21:00. Extreme Day is the longest desert trip, 8:00 to 14:00: about an hour on a quad, an hour in a buggy and a camel ride, then the beach for a banana and sofa boat, about 5 minutes of parasailing and lunch.
The camel ride, from $15, is the gentlest option: about 45 minutes on a camel and tea with the Bedouins, back at the hotel around 11:00. It suits anyone who does not want to drive.

We might ask you to send a photo of your passport. This reduces the waiting time in the port or when leaving the reserved areas of Sharm el-Sheikh by booking everything in advance. In response to your request, we will send the bus arrival time for you. An important clarification: the bus is waiting at the gate, outside the hotel. This significantly shortens the transfer time. All excursions can be booked just one day before the desired date of visit, except for tours by plane.
